Also, I ask because there have been a few battles where I got the distinct feeling I got mugged by someone using one.
Can anyone tell me the latest truth about aim assist mods? Are people using them, and is there any way to know how much? I ask because I have never used one, and when I first became aware that mods were out there, my first thought was "that's a cheat". all the classes do basically the same thing and lose their uniqueness.OK, I've only been at this for a few weeks and absolutely love WoW. the end game result of this is what you see in warcraft. even tier 3's isn't much of a set back, but the 4's and 5's? that might be an expensive proposition if you get my drift. switching from one class to another in 1's and 2's. for whatever reason, if people start migrating to a specific ship or class for any reason, expect changes to discourage the trend, even destroy it to be implemented. They want every ship class to be represented equally. when 1 class or race starts having to many people playing, they nerf it. greybox is giving people reasons, even compelling players not to play corvettes and move to something else. why? easy answer, you can look to changes in world of warcraft for greybox's playbook. Greybox is making the fast, high dps ship less of a threat. Since i said would happen less then 7 days ago with no prior knowledge, maybe hear me out on this one. i think there is 2 clear changes hindering the corvette's ability to full-fill this role, and i don't see them being compensated with other stats or abilities. the corvette class stats are based around being fast and doing a lot of damage very quickly before the target can react. That's hardly the same as a WoWS-style "auto-aim against corvettes", nor did you predict the damned future because, again, it was already in the damned game.
If you actually bother to read those patch notes carefully, it becomes clear that the issue they were fixing was that there was another component of this AA that was attempting to help people aim at corvettes, but it wasn't working very well for some people, so they allowed it to be turned off. It's not a true AA, it's what they were referring to that cross-shaped thing that follows your crosshairs around and lets you know where you're actually aiming when (1) a repair beam auto-aim is working, or (2) when you're aiming outside of your ship's actual field of fire (like too far up or down, on most hips). There ARE patch notes for 1.8.1, and they refer to an aim assist, but the AA they were referring to WAS ALREADY IN THE GAME. Im still no where near close to paying for any kind of content for this game, i have no intention of playing past the recruit fleet for the simple fact i know what's waiting for me in the vet fleet and i have no real buddies to play with.
the hand held controller is much better, maybe i'll pick one up for pc, anyone got a suggestions? playing with a keyboard is a lot more difficult for sure, it's harder to hit the right abilities at the right time or at all. but tier 2 corvettes are very difficult to play successfully now that my targets never miss when aiming at me.īeyond that, 8 ships on each team is really cool, the new maps are also nice, the graphics are way nicer, over all it's a really big improvement over the ps4, but i am having long periods of wait times in between matches in the recruit fleet, sometimes around 10 minuets haha. i will con-seed this is only in the recruit fleet, so maybe in 3's 4's and 5's their dps is more what i was use to seeing on the ps4, if this is the case, please let me know. the blink and booster just got nullified. hitting them has zero challenge + their low HP makes any hit and run attempted 95% suicidal if you don't defeat your target on the first pass. with this addition of auto aim specifically for them i think the corvette class just became worthless. their dps is less then half of ps4's version.
right off the bat, vet's have been hit with more nerf bats out in the desert then joe pesci was in the movie casino.
It's no secret ps4 vet's are wicked powerful, part of that power comes from being so fast it's literally hard to aim at them and actually land a shot. i'll offer a few observations on this subject, i think it's a monster change they made. it's the aim assist from world of warship's twin bother in dreadnought. i read the latest patch notes and it looks like i predicted the future, they added a auto aim against against corvettes.
I played the pc version of this game for the first time.
